Brushing off the cobwebs...

Hey, didn't I use to have a blog around here somewhere? (Blowing dust off the blog-o-sphere).
I surf around on the net a lot. I look at random blogs. Routinely people are apologizing for letting their blog lapse. Lapse? I think 7 months is more abandonment.

Hey, I've been busy, you know. Really. I've complained about not enough to keep me busy at work for the past three jobs I've had - including where I am now. NOT SMART. Last summer, our company bought another company and I took over their accounting. I got a boss in the fall (having been flying solo for several months). Not only did that not take the load off, it increased it, as things that had been on the back burner started heating up. Plus, there's that whole "new boss, new rules" thing. He's a good guy, but it's been hectic.

I worked on the Christmas show, as A.D. and stage manager. Unfortunately, I was sick when we started and then hurt my back, so that wasn't as much fun as it could be. I haven't worked on anything since then.

I've been grandparenting. I had already mentioned my second grandson, who was born last spring. He is such a cutie! Round face, pink cheeks, and dimples to die for. Then, right before Halloween our third grandson arrived. Another adorable boy, but very different.
The two brothers live 15 minutes north of us and the new cousin lives 20 minutes south of us, so unless they come to us, we don't see them all at the same time. Which is cool, since we can focus on them separately, but on the other hand, takes all weekend. Love it, but everything else is on the back burner. Like theatre.

I am still singing in the choir. I had a solo in the Christmas concert. I've had some trouble since then since I've had my annual 6 weeks of hacking cough. It is allergy, I know it. The doctor tells me so -- every year. But it sounds like I'm choking to death. And feels like it too. Throw in a bona fide sinus infection, it's not conducive to choir practice. I think the worse has past. I hope there's still time to get ready for the March concert.

I guess that sums up the past seven months. Of course, there's more detail. Like a week and 1/2 of pre-audit auditors in November and a week and 1/2 of year end auditors in February. Five months of 12-hr days. A solid week of snow and ice (in Texas!!). Fourth of July, Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Valentine's Day... Birthdays for both sons and hubby. Oldest grandson turned 6, started first grade, lost a tooth. Basically I don't think I've enough blog space to cover it all. Just normal life. I love it.
